Sleep disorders cures

It’s not easy to find sleep disorders cures these days. There can be so many causes, so many factors, that each cure has to be personalized on the individual.

Yet, the medical world has started to admit, that the brain – as the leader of the other organs, is the most important when coming to sleep disorders. Happiness of the brain means a good functionality and a good coordination of the organs.

The brain is a very complex organ, and it represents more than physical cells and connections. Our traumas, our stress, fears and frustrations, our memories, they all affect our brain. It becomes unbalanced and unhappy, and we will start doing some strange things to try to make it happy again. But we’ll do this using some physical methods, like eating a lot, going shopping, taking drugs or simply trying to shut its mouth with some anesthetic pills like Xanax or others of the kind. Then will’ll finally get some sleep!

While there is no pill in this world that can treat a broken heart, or a frustration, we can at least provide the brain with its fuel, assuring that it is physically satisfied and can function properly. Not tranquilizing it, nor reducing it to silence with some synthetic help, but nourishing it with glycogen, its fuel.

fuel your brain with honey for a better sleep

During sleeping, our brain doesn’t sleep!

As I described in the post One of the best foods that fuel your brain!, our liver is the most essential supplier of glycogen for our brain. The liver produces it from fructose and glucose in a 1:1 ratio, and we can find those two sugars, in exactly this ratio, in HONEY.

One or two spoons of quality, unfiltered honey, taken right before going to bed, will make the liver produce enough glycogen to ensure the fuel for the brain, for 8 hours of sleep. Thus, it will not wake us up during sleep, to get some food and feed it.
Because during sleep, our brain doesn’t sleep, but functions in a high energy state.

Having an uninterrupted sleep, due to a proper brain fueling, will lead to many other health benefits. From reducing the risks for hypertension and cardiovascular disease, to improved learning and memory.

Science also tells us that honey stabilizes blood sugar levels and contributes to the release of MELATONIN, which is the hormone required for recovery and rebuilding of body tissues during rest. And, “it activates the immune system, acts as an extremely powerful antioxidant, regulates the circadian rhythms, and increases production of cells in bone marrow” (according to Brainwave Research Institute)

Sleep apnea

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), also known as sleep apnea, is a condition of interrupted breathing during sleep. This interruption leads to a reduced delivery of oxygen to the brain. A “reflex” arousal is thus created and the sleep will be interrupted. And because this is not a singular happening during the night, the following day we will feel fatigue and probably be sleepy the whole day.

But it is not only about feeling sleepy during the next, but the fact that this interrupted breathing may increase the risk for all the diseases known collectively as the metabolic syndrome: heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. Even depression and Alzheimer’s disease.

What to do? Reduce the overnight stress by providing the brain with a sufficient fuel supply, so it won’t get hungry and start stressing the body. The production and release of adrenal stress hormones is reduced, allowing sleep to continue uninterrupted throughout the night. A restorative sleep promotes physiologic recovery.

We should not jump to the conclusion that honey will cure sleep apnea. YET, the reduction of metabolic stress during sleep does reduce the risks, not only of sleep apnea, but also of other associated conditions and diseases.

Bruxism

Bruxism is considered a sleep-related movement disorder, in which you grind, gnash or clench your teeth. People with bruxism are more likely to have other sleep disorders, such as snoring or sleep apnea. Like everything else in life, they all come together.
In some people, bruxism can be frequent and severe enough to lead to jaw disorders, headaches, damaged teeth and other problems.

The medical treatments of today can only offer some means to avoid these unpleasant consequences. Like a special protection for the teeth (but not the muscles and jaw joints), called bite plate, that has been custom-fitted by your dentist. Or injections with botox (botulism toxin) working to minimize spasm in overworked jaw muscles.

It is commonly accepted that the root of bruxism is, again, stress and traumas. The only effective treatment can be done only by the patient himself, with or without the help of a specialist.

Hypnosis can help bruxism and sleep disorders

Hypnosis can either inoculate you with the idea that immediately after you fell asleep, there is absolutely no stress, no trauma that can affect your sleep, or can lead you to the root, the cause of the psychological problem.

This is done through regression in the actual life or a past one, trying to reveal what caused your trauma and how to deal with it. I personally have read a lot about Quantum Healing Hypnosis Therapy, and I have come to recommend it with all my heart.

If you have tried all methods and nothing helped, if you even tried the method I described here, that of ensuring the brain with the necessary fuel, by taking 1 or 2 spoons of honey just before bedtime, then I sincerily recommend trying regressing into your past, to discover what’s wrong.

You may be surprised of the result. You may discover more than you ever wanted to know, you may be healed in the processes, get rid of other conditions that you had, or, you may simply get a different perspective and get to understand life better. There are so many things you can discover.

Try first to read more about this. If it gets your attention, then go for it! Read Dolores Cannon’s books, and you can start with this rather long, but incredibly interesting book, The Convoluted Universe – Book Three, which is cheap in a kindle version, and it’s worth each and every single cent.

And if you decide to move on and give it a try, and if something changes in your life,
than please come back here and let us all know.

Conclusion

Honey does not directly heal sleep disorders. But taking 1 or 2 spoons of honey before bedtime, the brain will be fueled and the metabolic stress during sleep will be reduced. And so will be the risks, not only of sleep apnea, but also of other associated conditions and diseases.
Honey will also stabilize blood sugar levels and contributes to the release of melatonin, which is the hormone required for recovery and rebuilding of body tissues during rest.

  1. Hi, reading about honey for sleep..became very interested in the relaxing exercises. I also have sleep problems.thank you

  2. Hi there Laura
Thanks so much for a very informative article.I^ve had sleep disorders seems like all my life (it`s only 20 years but seems like forever).
I could not exactly put my hands and point out where or when exactly the problem started,1 minute I was a go lucky 20-year-old, the next I was having sleeping problems.
Over the years, I have really struggled, problems that come with lack of sleep depression, panic attacks, tiredness, paranoia…….. the problem was so bad it kept me home jobless for 5 years.
Over the years, I have done ALL I could think of doing, been to sleep clinic 3 months straight as an inpatient, had needles stuck in my for acupuncture 2X, at my lowest, I followed a lady to Italy for hypnosis, I had nothing to lose really.
And yes, the long journey was not worth it.
I have now come to accept things as they are, I don’t let myself get stressed when I can’t sleep, I can’t count the days when I leave the house in the morning to go to work before I went to bed, and I guess you know how I feel then.
But I have not given up and always looking for ways to improve my sleep so finding a post like yours giving hope is always great.
    Really appreciate your sharing

    1. I had no idea this can turn into such a deep problem. I honestly don’t believe honey alone can help you with that, but I do have some ideas. 🙂
You don’t fall asleep. At all. But do you enter at least a state of relaxation? Most probably you do that in the first place, than you get angry because you cannot sleep.
I think there is something that can help you with this, not to fall asleep, but enter a state of relaxation, pretty much like sleeping, if not better. You can do that with the help of some special sounds. Have you heard of Hemi-Sync binaural sounds?
The Monroe Institute has “invented” them and I tell you from personal experience that after 1 hour of listening to what they call “Relaxation Reinforcement Exercise” I feel completely refreshed, like after a whole night of sleep.

So, you can accept the fact that you cannot sleep, and meanwhile take advantage of this as well. Believe it or not, there are people who wish they can stay up all the time. Not to work at something, or party all the time, but to maintain a state of consciousness all the time. Somebody tried to do that, to stay awake in his mind, even when sleeping, but after a month he was a zombie.
You on the other hand, can accomplish more. You can relax – so you eliminate the effects of sleep deprivation and do amazing things, while in an altered state. Things like: out of body journeys, remote viewing, self healing and so on. With so much extra time, you can train your mind and your brain.

I hope I haven’t scared you with these things. The idea is to accept what you have and take advantage of it. Maybe this has a purpose you need to discover.
I suggest you to write to the Monroe Institute and ask for an opinion. They are more entitled than I am to give a suggestion.

As for honey, yes, take it before going to bed (you know…). Your problem is deeper, but on the long run honey will only benefit you.

If you would like to try my relaxation tune I told you about, please let me know and I’ll email it to you.
      Good luck!
      Laura

  3. Hello Laura, very great and important info you have here, did you know that Greenpeace has a whole lot of articles running to save the bee? You can find it on their website. Greetings Loes

    1. No surprise about that. The bees need our support, if we want to enjoy honey in the future. We are at this moment so good at destroying our planet, the bees included, that we have put our entire race at risk.
I’ll check their page, for more support.
      thanks
      Laura
